WAFDA supplies and recommends the Ultrastar and Dreamer discs. The Discraft Ultrastar is the standard disc used throughout the world for Ultimate, and is suitable for all ages. Younger children (up to grade 5) may find it easier to learn with the Dreamer, a locally produced disc that is smaller and lighter than the Ultrastar, and very easy to throw. Individuals should purchase discs from one of the WAFDA affiliated clubs, or alternatively you can purchase them from WAFDA at a cost of $20 (Ultrastars) and $5 (Dreamers). Some sports stores and toy shops also carry Discraft discs now. The 175g Wham-O/Frisbee brand disc is also a good alternative. The WAFDA sells discs directly to affiliated Ultimate clubs, to schools, sports stores, community groups, etc. To order discs from the association, download the order form and post or email it to the association (Addresses are on the form.) Bulk purchased Ultrastar discs cost from $12-$15 depending on quantity, and Dreamers cost $3.50-$4.00 depending on quantity. (Postage/delivery not included) Some sports stores and equipment suppliers have discs that are cheaper than these - some of these brands are made of poor quality plastic and do not fly well. The WAFDA recommends trying these discs before purchasing if possible. Discraft and Wham-O discs are of good quality, quality may vary with other brands..
