High School Ultimate Championships

WA ULTIMATE host an annual High School Ultimate Championships (HSUC). Missed the 2017 championships?? Read about it here.

The 2018 Competitiong will be coming to you in Term 1 or Term 4 (TBC) of the 2018 school year.

Team Numbers and Rosters

There are 7 players on a field at a time, you may have as many substitutes as you wish on the team. If you are entering a Mixed Division Team(s), there will be a 4/3 gender split of either gender on the field at all times. We recommend a team of 10-12 players to allow for substitutes as you will be playing multiple games throughout the day.

This event will be open to all High Schools and will offer the following divisions and age groups:

BOYS Divisions

Years 7-9 combined

Years 10-12 combined

GIRLS divisions

Years 7-9 combined Years 10-12 combined

MIXED divisions

Years 7-9 combined

Years 10-12 combined

*The minimum number of team registrations required for a division to go ahead is four (4). WA Ultimate hold the right to cancel a division if there are not enough participating teams registered in that division. If you have entered a team in a division which does become cancelled, you will be notified 2 weeks prior to the event and may enter the participants in another division.

The 2016 High School Ultimate Championships will be using a set of Modified rules, suited for ages 12- 17 years old. These rules will be available upon registration - similar rule modifications can be found on our Teacher Resources page.

Ultimate is based on Spirit of the Game (SOTG). That places the responsibility for fair play on every player. There are no external referees; the players are solely responsible for following and enforcing the rules, even at the World Championship level. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.

Ultimate is one of the cheapest sports to play! All you need is a disc and eight cones. To get the real deal, proper discs and not a ‘toy Frisbee’ contact us, check out our website, or fill out our disc order form.

Ultimate is generally played in cleats (eg. Football/soccer boots.) This footwear helps with turning and pivoting in the game of Ultimate. Cleats are not necessary or mandatory to play, however enclosed shoes (running shoes) are.

Does your school have what it takes to be the next High School Ultimate Champions!?

Stay Tuned for updates!
