The Evolution League (aka EVO) was introduced to provide a competition with a higher level of play than the regular Perth Ultimate League. The introduction in 2007 of the Social Ultimate League (SUL) meant that new players entered SUL rather than PUL, which had the effect of increasing the standard and intensity of the PUL. Thus, the EVO league was no longer required in that format. EVO was re-introduced in 2007 as a split-gender league, open to all levels (rather than just higher level players). Year
