WAFDA Codes of Conduct - Overview
The Western Australian Flying Disc Association (WAFDA) seeks to provide a safe, fair and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our organisation and in our sport.
This includes providing everyone involved in our organisation and in our sport with a positive and enriching sporting environment that promotes participation, enjoyment and development in the sport.
In addition to this, players, coaching staff and other team and WAFDA administrators, employees and representatives, must also, when relevant:
The WAFDA Codes of Conduct outlines desired behaviours and actions that are aligned with the WAFDA’s aim of providing a safe, fair and inclusive environment. The Codes are divided into four categories; Excellence, Honouring the Sport, Integrity, and Respect.
The WAFDA Codes of Conduct applies to the following people whether they are in a paid or unpaid role for the Western Australian Flying Disc Association or affiliated organisations:
The WAFDA has Codes of Conduct for specific roles. It may be the case that an individual is required to adhere to the standards of conduct outlined by more than one Code at any one point in time. The role-specific Codes are:
These specific Codes of Conduct are included in this document. Additionally, each Code has been published individually for ease of reference and use.
The WAFDA will consider a failure to observe these Codes of Conduct as misconduct and will take appropriate disciplinary action. In addition to any internal disciplinary proceedings, we will report to the police all instances in which a breach of the law has or may have occurred.
The WA Flying Disc Association Inc (WAFDA) has legal and moral obligations to provide safe environments and responsibly govern flying disc sports in WA.
Policies serve to inform everyone of their legal and ethical rights and responsibilities and the standards of behaviour that are required. It also covers the care and protection of children participating in our sport’s activities.
These policies are just some measures put in place to help ensure that flying disc sports are safe, welcoming and enjoyable. It provides assurances to all those involved and those wishing to be involved in our sport that improper conduct will not be tolerated.
