2021 WA State Beach Championships

WA Ultimate is proud to present the 2021 WA State Beach Championships hosted by UWA Ultimate Club.

Where: South City Beach, City Beach
When: Sunday, January 17th
Time: 8:30AM - 3PM
Format: Mixed Gender, 5-a-side
Cost: $20 Team Fee, $20 Player Fee

Payment Information

 

Team Registration Fee will be due upon team registration. Then by the 10th of January, a single team payment including all Individual Team Player Fees should be made to the below account. This payment is required as a single team payment ONLY. Please reference your team name in the payment details.

Rules Accreditation

 

For the 2021 WA Beach Ultimate Championships all players on your roster MUST be STANDARD rules accredited and a minimum of 4 MUST have the advanced accreditation (this number must include your Captain).

 

Your team must provide proof of rules accreditation by the deadline. It is suggested that the Spirit Captain collect certificates prior to the deadline to ensure a smooth process. The deadline for this is 10th January 2021.

 

Submission of a team list is required and must include the following information:

 

  • Full Name of each playing registrant,
  • WFDF Username as displayed on their certificate,
  • Date the test was completed
  • Date of expiry

 

To download your certificate, head to the WFDF Rules website below; login and click MY RESULTS and download your certificate. The certificate will include all of these details required.

Appoint a Spirit Captain

 

The Spirit Captain role is separate from the role of Team Captain or Team Manager and must be registered by May 1st.
About the Spirit Captain:

 

  • The tasks of the Spirit Captain are only undertaken when they are OFF THE FIELD
  • The Spirit Captain should ensure they access to a copy of the current WFDF and tournament specific rules with them on the sideline
  • Coordinate the discussion and collection of the Spirit score for the opposing team following each match
  • Be the point of contact for your team for all matters relating to Spirit of the Game
  • They may be required to discuss the level of spirit in the game with the opposing team's Spirit Captain and then share Spirit Scores with them (if requested)
  • The Spirit Captain may call a Spirit Timeout
  • They should have an excellent knowledge of the current rule set, and also a good understanding of its application (they should hold the  WFDF Rules Advanced Accredited status)
  • They do not hold the position of Team Captain or Team Manager
  • They should be a senior player within the team, such that all other players will respect and listen to them if needed
  • They should be able to maintain a clear, calm, objective view of the game
  • They should be willing and able to approach opposing Spirit Captains and their own players and communicate clearly and respectfully in a pressure situation.

 

COVID Management

 

In order to comply with the Sport and Recreation guidelines, some changes to the tournament must be made. These changes will affect you directly and a document outlining the changes is available at  https://afda.com/p/covid-management-plan

 

Information for participant

 

  • You can compare the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), with the common cold and flu.
  • Feeling unwell? If you develop a fever, a cough, sore throat or shortness of breath, contact a doctor or call 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
  • Self-isolate at home if presenting symptoms.

 

Information for clubs, peak sporting bodies or active recreation organisations

 

  • Notify health authorities.
  • Notify your peak body and the Department of Housing and Public Works (Sport and Recreation).
  • Communicate with officials, teams, participants, parents and carers.
