Joint Member Statement - May 2025
State and Territory Member Organisations of the Australian Flying Disc Association (AFDA) express their disappointment following the national body’s failure to submit timely bid applications to the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) for the 2026 World Ultimate Club Championships (WUCC).
This outcome represents a failure of governance and operational process. We acknowledge the significant time, effort, and dedication that athletes, coaches, and volunteers have invested in preparing for this event. We understand there is significant frustration in the community where people do not feel seen or heard on this and other important issues.
The state and territory flying disc associations across Australia want you, our members, to know that we:
- support the call for an immediate and transparent review of the failures that led to this outcome and will be making our own statement to AFDA
- will continue to advocate for policies and processes that reflect the trust, transparency, and professionalism expected at the national level
- will continue to work together with AFDA to ensure the long-term confidence of our players, supporters, and community
The Spirit of the Game is an important and unique aspect of our sport, and all actions on and off the field should reflect this. We remind our community of the National Integrity Framework and Team Australia agreements. Breaches that occur under the National Integrity Framework may be referred for independent investigation by Sport Integrity Australia.
