His determination to always excel and develop his skills further is inspirational to all who work with him.

Kyal possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This is consistently highlighted throughout his volunteer coaching roles. His coaching experience is vast in the five years he has been involved in the sport.

Tournament of the Year - Cable Beach Hat (Broome Ultimate Club)
This tournament was run for the second consecutive year with great success. All players enjoyed themselves over the weekend. It was played one day on the grass, very spacious fields with facilitites close by, and the second day on the sand at Cable Beach.
Once again facilities were close by and in good condition. The weather helped, of course, with it being warm sunny and a light breeze. It was perfect weather for Ultimate!
The weekend was well organised with players being kept informed by both email and info on the Broome Ultimate Facebook page. Food was provided for both days and made by members of Broome Ultimate.
This is a great, nutritious way to keep player fees down. Registrations were very smooth, with players being directed to a simple one page signup process and then direction as to where to pay.
Apart from the airfares to get to Broome, the tournament was a bargain for players. For just $35 per player they got food for 2 days and a shirt.
This fee also helped to covered player insurance, field hire, water, suncream, first aid etc. The TD was able to secure local funding and support from local business to help keep player costs low.
The number of players for the tournament was similar to the first CBH in 2013, however there were more local players this year proving that the sport is growing with in Broome! Looking to 2015 we hope to maintain the participation of locals but increase the number of people attending the tournament from outside the town of Broome.

Administrator of the Year - Sam Dickson
Sam is one of the biggest recruiters for Ultimate at UWA. He runs the UWA Social league (30 teams, 400+ players, 5 time slots) EVERY WEEK by himself, including scoring, updating the ladders, liaising with teams and UWA Sports
He co-captains the UWA B team, taking on the organizational side of the team, and is the B team representative on the UWA Ultimate Committee. This year he volunteered at the Phoenix Has Risen peak event,not only did assist with developing fixtures he also arrived early and stayed late each day to assist
with set up and packing up duties.
Sam has been in charge of organising our Club Brunei trip (18 players going to Brunei and Singapore in December 2014) and facilitated training and social exchanges with Singapore's Nanyang Polytechnic and Singapore Management University
He has also taken in upon himself to organise weekly fitness sessions open to anyone, but targeted at players trying out for U23s next year.

Team of the Year - Kaos Ultimate
Growth and improvement of the team as a whole
Kaos Ultimate has been involved in sending a team to the National Championships for several years now. It is always a goal of the team to finish in the top six of the tournament and improve on the previous year's result.
This year the team set a goal to achieve a medal at nationals, and through the development of new and existing players, all members of the team performed well individually and as a team, resulting in a season best of second place.
Development of individual players
There are several members of Kaos Ultimate that have benefitted from the training of the nationals team. Several of our members used our trainings to assist them in their development prior to the World Clubs Championships.
We also opened our trainings up to women who were playing in the U23 Worlds tournament, allowing them to continue their development and train at a high level.
All members of the Kaos National team were valued and appreciated for their hard work and dedication. There are many events that are still attended by ladies from the team.
Uniforms/team identity
The Kaos logo and uniform is now more easily recognised through our success at nationals and also by the hard work of the newly formed club committee that has allowed us to put our name out in the community through fundraising and development events.
Spirit shown on the field
Spirit was a goal of the Kaos Ultimate Nationals Team. Kaos continues to working to build a reputation of being a friendly and spirited team.
Participation in Tournaments and Events
Kaos represented at Western Regionals and old team members also formed to put in a team to play against (SOAK). Kaos entered the Autumn Swarm as a women's team, playing against other mixed teams in the region as a warm up tournament for nationals.

Outstanding Service Award - Glen Fowles

Glen was elected to the executive committee of the Sublime Ultimate Club in late 2013 as Treasurer and has successfully managed the financial interests of Sublime through two major campaigns and the Club is in a strong financial position due to his hard work, diligence and attention to detail. Further, Glen has made a significant effort to incorporate Sublime as an Ultimate club in late-2013 and, in doing so, has further strengthened the growth and development prospects of men’s Ultimate in Western Australia.
From mid-2013, Glen was instrumental in gathering support for Western Australia’s first Open team representation at the World Ultimate Club Championships and cementing Sublime’s bid for an entry into WUCC. Glen continued his contribution by arranging the logistics behind the Sublime AUC and WUCC seasons, liaising with organising bodies within Australia and internationally to arrange player transport, accommodation, and a fully scheduled
WUCC pre-tour. Glen has also made key contributions to the coordination of the Morrill Performance event, Witch’s Hat 2013, hosting a visiting Singaporean playing group and Sublime fundraising, including a Bunnings barbecue and a raffle, among other activities.
On the field Glen is a strong leader and clearly fosters the spirit of the game. Glen is recognised by teammates and opponents as a diligent and hard-working player who leads by example. Glen has continued to build the Fetch name through Phoenix, Bay of Pigs, and several more PULs with the sister team Fetchasaurus. Glen drives the recruitment and development of new players by welcoming them into Fetch/Fetchasaurus and coaches individuals on skills and game tactics before, during and after games, although Glen’s commitment to individual development is by no means limited to Fetch or Sublime.
Glen’s move to Melbourne in 2015 will see him very much missed by the WA Ultimate community and will leave a large void, however we wish him all the best for his Ultimate pursuits both on and off the field.
Glen’s move caps off his outstanding service to the Western Australian Ultimate community over not just the past year, but his sustained efforts and contributions over the several years prior.

Female Rookie of the Year – Shani Webb
Shani joined KAOS and has shown great commitment to learn their style of play and adapt that game with other teams she plays with. This year she was a part of the silver medal KAOS team at 2014 Australian Ultimate Championships. On the field Shani shows great Spirit, never making unjust calls and always willing to discuss opposition calls in a calm manner. Most notably, Shani's read on the game is fantastic, knowing the right place to be at the right time.
Shani is always more than happy to listen to coaching and advice and adjust areas of her game to improve, always puts in 100% effort and is the main organiser for ECU Ultimate and attended AUGs in Sydney this year and was nominated for the Martin Laird Achivement Award.

Male Rookie of the Year - Ben Bastion
Ben Bastion has demonstrated an incredibly strong capacity to learn and exhibits tremendous potential within only his first year of having played Ultimate, with his contribution to Ultimate not just restricted to on-field pursuits. Since Ben's first PUL experience in August 2013 (PUL47) he has achieved the following:
• become a highly respected and valued member of the WA Ultimate community, and in particular the UWA and Sublime Ultimate teams;
• acted as a leader among his peers, particularly through his time as a member of the UWA development team, and is a fledgling leader for state/international representative teams;
• demonstrated an exceptional willingness and capacity to learn combined with a tenacious attitude towards self-development;
• advocates and supports the development of Ultimate, particularly among his peer group at university;
• represented UWA at the 2014 Australian University Games, playing a key role in the team's Bronze medal performance;
• represented Sublime at the 2014 World Ultimate Club Championships, playing a key part of the team's 27th placing and 8th placing for spirit. Also represented Sublime at the 2014 Australian Ultimate Championships;
• contributed to the organisation and coordination of Sublime, demonstrating his strong organisational skills to organise and manage off-field activities including the Sublime team awards for the 2014 Open season;
• developed a strong understanding of the rules and a clear desire to extend his understanding and apply the rules correctly and fairly; and
• has been an enthusiastic and skilled participant in WA Ultimate, competing in a variety of tournaments including Phoenix has risen, Bay of Pigs, Witch's Hat, WA State Indoor Championships and various PULs.
Ben's 'rookie' involvement in and contribution to Ultimate far exceeds that of most players in WA in the 2013-2014 season, let alone those in the first year of playing the sport, and has been underpinned by a committed and varied involvement in the sport. Ben should be proud of an exceptional first year and is already respected by many as a quickly maturing and improving player.

Female Youth of the Year - Kirsten Chick
Kirsten Chick has been playing Ultimate since 2012 with Disco Inferno in the Perth Ultimate and the PRIMAL Social Leagues. In the past year Kirsten has put a remarkable amount of work into taking her game to a new level. She tried out for the 2014 U19 Girls Australian team and was included in this year’s squad that travelled to Lecco, Italy.
Kirsten dedicated time beyond her training program to ensure she was fit and ready to represent Australia at this event. She worked with her club UWA attending extra training sessions and trying out for their Australian University Games team and also attending private training sessions at PRIMAL Ultimate Club before regular club sessions to work on her individual skills.
Upon returning from Italy Kirsten was then invited to join the UWA AUG's team and traveled to Sydney and returned with a bronze medal in division one.
In one short year Kirsten has gone from being a social Ultimate player to an Australian representative through her hard work and dedication.
A respected player, she upholds spirit of the game and is a fierce competitor.

Male Youth of the Year - Sam Francoise
Sam has had a fantastic year of Ultimate here in Perth and abroad. He has been playing Ultimate her in Perth since he was 14 and already has competed at the Australian Ultimate Championships, Australian Mixed Ultimate Championships and the 2012 World Junior Ultimate Championships.
Over the past year Sam has worked hard as an athlete to take his game further and push himself to perform locally for his club commitments and internationally as a leader of the Australian U19 team.
In 2014 Sam competed at the following events:
World Junior Ultimate Championships - Captain of the U19 Boys Team
World Ultimate Club Championships - Sublime Ultimate Club
Australian University Games - Murdoch (4th place in Div 2)
With a playing resume like this it's easy to forget that Sam is still only 19 years old. Affectionately known as Dizzy he constants pushes himself to be a better player and is a well-respected team mate.

Female Player of the Year – Anna Haynes
Anna Haynes has competed in twelve consecutive Australian Ultimate Championships, while this is an amazing achievement in itself over the past year she took her game to a new level. Locally, she is a fierce competitor and a dominant handler consistently competing in all WA leagues and tournaments and at a national level, she has played with the Sydney based club, Sand Dunes, for the past five years.

Anna invests a lot of time as an employee and as a volunteer in this sport and playing typically takes a back seat to her administrative responsibilities and goals, but in the past year she has managed not only her workload off the pitch but invested serious time as an athlete to achieve personal playing goals on the pitch. In the last 12 months Anna has demonstrated what can be attained through hard work and commitment, dropping a massive 16kgs is but one dramatic change visible for all to see. This remarkable achievement allowed her to focus attention on an efficient and intense training routine with her sights set on the World Ultimate Club Championships (WUCC) in Lecco, Italy.

As a player filling both the Captain and Coach roles it can be hard to get the best out of your athletes as well as perform the best of your personal ability, this year Anna smashed this goal. She leads by example on and off the pitch at the highest level possible this year and was named MVP of the Women’s Masters Division at WUCC with a staggering 37 assists and 2 goals. This was particularly special because the PRIMAL team played one less game than the next nine players on the MVP list who had progressed through to the medal stages of the event.

Anna is committed to upholding the Spirit of the Game at all times. As Captain of the Spirit winning PRIMAL Women’s Masters Team at WUCC there is no greater evidence of her dedication to educating, promoting and living the ethos that envelops SOTG. Her love of the game knows no boundaries and she is always on hand to assist new players and continues to provide a playing standard that other female players strive to achieve.

Male Player of the Year - Kyal Oh
In addition to his amazing contribution as a coach in the past year Kyal has also dominated on the pitch as a player as well.
AUC: Not only was Kyal named MVP for Sublime (Australian Ultimate Championships 2014) he was also named Most Spirited Player/Clubman for the same event (as voted by his peers).
PUL: Locally Kyal assists many teams in the Perth Ultimate League always on hand to lend his skills and help teams improve however he can. This year he also selflessly gave his time to help out the PRIMAL Masters Women's team compete in the B Division of the Perth League as part of their preparation for WUCC. He played with integrity and passion at all times, always motivating his female team mates to improve and work as team.
WUCC: After completing his national coaching duties Kyal went on to compete at the World Ultimate Club Championships with Sublime in the Open Division. He was named Vice Captain and was a integral member of the primary D Line for the team.
As a leader, coach and an athlete Kyal's strives to lead by example at all times on and off the pitch.

Litani Looby hosted a new segment named the "Alti-Ulti" awards where by WA Ultimate members nominated their peers in the light-hearted alternative award categories:

The DANGERZONE Award (Awarded to the player with the most ill-advised hammers and hucks) went to Toby Sunderland (Curtin)

The Mosh Pit Award (for Closest Zone Defense) went to Curtin
