Perth Ultimate League – League RulesRegistration - Teams and players must be registered via the AFDA website (www.afda.com) online registration system.
- All players must be registered prior to commencing play.
- 'Casual' players, ie. players who are 'passing through' and not expected to play more than three weeks, do not need to be registered online. However, their full name MUST be recorded on the team scoresheet, and they must pay the Casual Registration Fee.
Fees- The team captain is responsible for ensuring that all team fees have been paid prior to the commencement of Round three (3) games.. This is for insurance and liability purposes; if team fees are not paid by this time a $50 late fee will be added onto the Team Fee due by the last Game of the league.
- League Fee for Juniors - For all players under the age of 18 at the time of league registration a $10 discount to the team fee will apply. The full $10 discount MUST be passed onto junior players and not shared amongst the team.
- League Fee for WAFDA Committee Members - a $10 discount to the team fee will apply for each member of the WAFDA Committee playing with the team. The full $10 discount should be passed onto the Committee members and not shared amongst the team.
- Casual Registration Fee is $5.00 per game. New players trying their first game of Ultimate are exempt from this fee.
Rules of Play- The 2009 WFDF Rules of Play will be followed
- Team Roster – The maximum number of registered players per team is fifteen (15).
- Gender Split
- It is preferred that the gender split for a 7-a-side game be as follows: a maximum of four (4) and a minimum of three (3) players of either gender allowed during any point. The defensive team is obliged to match the gender split chosen by the offensive team for each point, unless they do not have enough players of either gender to do so. Penalties apply if a team is unable to field seven (7) players at anytime. If a player is injured during the game causing their team to field less than three (3) players of their gender, no penalty will be applied and the game can continue with an alternative gender split.
- If changes to the gender split are required it must be agreed on by the captains before the start of the game
- Teams may apply to the League director for an exemption on the gender split rules. Likely examples would be women's development teams, masters or junior teams.
