In terms of recruitment, we were talking about this the other night, one of the girls in my SUL team was mentioning that her brothers were playing ulti in high school and loving it, and were considering coming down.
I remember playing in PE in yr 11 and enjoying the sport, but had no idea how to get involved outside school.
How hard would it be to put in calls to schools around Perth saying: Do you teach ulti, if so can you hand out leaflets to your students with contact details for clubs, as I'm sure this would easily lift numbers in the sport.
Although UWA Ultimate probably won't be taking this approach (as we have our own methods of recruitment around uni that are working), there is no reason for once clubs are formed, that they get out into the community to boost their numbers, all it would take is a couple of phone calls and some leaflets...
These players would be the target player group for SUL, leaving more experienced to play 2nd devision.
