Future PUL leagues after Pul 31 - 2008/06/09 22:13 Just to let everyone know that I enjoy Wednesday night very much but strongly believe that the PUL league needs to evolve to the next level. I know its only small things I am suggsting but I believe will ensure
that at least at a ground level the sport is looking more professional every day.

Generally we all turn up in the team colour e.g
Black for SPUD but they are the are different Black tops with different logos on them. It does not look professional at all for the top league in Perth.

It seems that only Fear and Rukus to some extent have a standard uniform that looks professional on the field.

I feel that this should all change for PUL 32, have every team have a defined players top and colour that
a does not clash greatly with another team. Also we should have numbers on them, this will enhance a more professional look to a passer by.

using PUL 31 to get all teams to get their uniform together for the next league would be more adequate time.

Also it would be great to have at least corner markers
properly marked on the field, (if allowed bu the owners of UWA sports park) JD has done a great job in the past but it is a liitle crap when we have to roughly work out the dimensions each week. I assume that properly lined fields will be out of the question but marked corners will go towards a professional look to the sport to passer byes.

Thats about it

Re:Future PUL leagues after Pul 31 - 2008/06/10 16:38 I think the idea of team shirts will/should wash out when the new executive committee decides on any new structure for Perth leagues and strategically aligning this with a Clubs policy. This was discussed at the AGM - the idea being floated is for the top tier league will only contain teams affiliated to established Clubs e.g. FEAR. The middle tier league allows for non-club teams like SPUD that may form and dissolve on a random basis. Then there's the social/beginner's league tier.

Top tier league should definitely be playing in club shirts. Middle tier leagues I think is unnecessary to demand for professional shirts with numbers, but perhaps the same shirt is not out of the question (I have once bought a bunch of $5 shirts for my PUL team so we all matched). This onus is on capts to be organised and willing to make the effort. It may not be viable for Social league teams to having matching shirts as there are many players who join as individuals.

I believe the corners will be permanently burnt onto the grass (soon?) and has been approved by UWA Sports.

Re:Future PUL leagues after Pul 31 - 2008/06/11 16:24 Hey Gareth,

Flux was the first team with shirts mate, and they fitted all players so looked like the shizz unlike the oversized dresses you give to your female players.

WOOT!
