Australian Ultimate Women's Hat Tourney - 2008/09/26 16:04 Hey girls,

Was just having a thought and I thought I should see who else may have similar thoughts about playing further women's games with women all around Australia?

Of course it wouldn't happen overnight - but just interested to see who would be interested - if there was a National Women's Hat tourney - who would want to go??

Thoughts would be after Nationals of course, coz this would be a huge venture to organise and might need to be in VIC in order to get the numbers, but yeah... just an idea.

who knows, if there is enough interest, we could approach AFDA regarding it.

Re:Australian Ultimate Women's Hat Tourney - 2008/09/30 13:13 would this coincide with the women's development camp? they did play games at the end of the camp this year.

the venture was hampered by the fact only a limited number of interstate girls could go AND be reimbursed. so negotiations would be required to allow more attendees but retain cost-sharing.

Re:Australian Ultimate Women's Hat Tourney - 2008/09/30 16:59 yeah, absolutely - it could be part of the women's development camp which would then kill two birds with one stone.

I guess the women's development camp will continue to grow, and as numbers increase, something like the hat tourney would develop from that.

One difference for that hat tourney i guess would be to not just limit it to intermediate level, but elite and beginner at the hat tourney as well.

I guess it would be difficult to fit too much in as a weekend can only hold so many events.

Also, It wouldn't bother me whether it was cost shared or not, obviously would be nice, but yeah, just interested to see if there is interest from WA girls to attend a women's hat tourney if there was one.

Anyway - girls who attended the women's devlopment camp - what did you think of it? I've only briefly chatted to Sarah about it with great reports, but it'd be nice to have a good run down.
