Re:Women's Premier League? - 2008/05/14 13:58 Personally I would find it easier/enjoyable to play in a women's monthly tournament type game. Whether we play savage with modified fields and game time or proper length games and subs, no matter. With a set 4 month schedule, or so, I could book of the day and plan ahead. I would also be important to arrange the teams in a way that expereince and beginner players are mixed up together. I LOVE TOURNAMENTS

Although it's nice to play with players you know and are friends with it's also important (I think) to play with different players to develop new skills and and forge new friendships. I would be happy to have a few hat type tournies and pre chosen teams tournies (once we have had a chance to get to know people).

and that my 2 cents.

Re:Women's Premier League? - 2008/05/26 19:29 Results of survey taken at SUL last week...

Total surveys = 12 women

WEBSITE INFORMATION
6 have accessed WA ultimate website
4 have not accessed WA ultimate webite
2 have accessed AFDA website
of the 6 that accessed WA ultimate site, only 2 have briefly seen the DISCussion forum, and only 1 has seen this thread about women's ultimate

WOMEN'S LEAGUE
10 women would like to participate in a women's league, 2 of which would only if friends from the mixed team played as well
1 is a maybe
1 is a no (really just wants to play with the SUL team)
9 women would like the women's game to be part of wed night, along with a mixed SUL game, however those that are also playing in PUL (x 3) do not want to play 3 games on a wed night.
other nights of interest:
monday x 2
Thursday x 2
Any night x 1
Weekend x 2 (either day in afternoon)
Not friday x 1
Not weekends x 2

NATIONALS 2009
Only 2 women knew of Nationals being in Perth 2009
interest in playing for a WA women's team:
3 x yes
1 x depending on training
2 x maybe
4 x no
2 x not answered

Reasons for not wanting to participate in Nationals:
2 x not confident
2 x too busy with other commitments
1 x just not interested

OTHER NOTES
there is interest from some girls about joining in women's training/development
Ages ranged between 21 and 33
2 x would like to progress to PUL
4 x would like to progress to PUL in future when they've gained more skills
2 x no, just want to play social
1 girl found out about Ultimate and beginner league from the gumtree.com website (perhaps future advertising method??)
11 girls joined because a friend had introduced them to the sport.

So - although this survey was small, there is definitly interest in an all women's game/league, preferably run on a wednesday night.
