 Tiered PUL - 2006/12/28 16:03 Another thing I'll put out there.

Would league benefit from a relegation sytem? Such that you at the start of the PUL you have a two week probation period in which teams play each other randomly and based on results would then be classified into sub leagues to ensure teams played other teams of reasonably similar ability.

Maybe this will have to wait until we get more numbers at league.

 Re:Tiered PUL - 2007/11/02 07:35 There are currently no restrictions on which teams may bid to enter PUL - any team can nominate to enter the league. If one or two SUL teams want to enter PUL, there is no reason why they can't nominate for that.

At some point PUL may become 'full', as we have a finite capacity in the number of teams the venue will support. In that case there may need to be some restrictions on number of teams, and some sort of process to determine which teams may compete at that level and which teams cannot. I think we are still a way off from requiring that.

 Re:Tiered PUL - 2007/11/05 12:18 The venue is able to fit 5 fields at one time, so 10 teams is the current "limit" for SUL and PUL in their time slots. There are 7 PUl teams right now so there's plenty of room for SUL teams to nominate themselves for PUL, we'd love to have you! Of course ideally an even number of teams is preferred so no team has a bye.

 Re:Tiered PUL - 2008/03/15 19:42 If you where going to have a tiered system wouldnt it make sense to move teams up and down from sul to pul and vice versa. I think it would be great as a next step for sul teams that the winners of the sul final move to play pul in the next season and the bottom team in pul move to play sul, it may be that some sul teams are already competing at a level to match most of the pul teams....
