On Friday January 30th professional international competitors will join Australia’s best Frisbee throwers at Seacrest Park to battle it out to be named the Distance Champion. The best bet is on the current world distance record holder from Germany, Simon Lizotte, who only recently broke the world record in the desert just outside Las Vegas with a throw of 263.2m. Other hot contenders include Jussi Meresmaa from Finland and Australia’s own Chris Finn.

The Distance Showcase is a side event of the 2015 Aussie Open Disc Golf Tournament taking place in Mundaring from January 29th – February 1st. Players from all over the world are converging on Perth to compete for a prize pool of $30,000 in the first major tournament in the Southern Hemisphere.
