UWA Win GOLD, Curtin take SOTG
The Australian University Games was held in Perth this week, 21 teams competed in the two divisions across five days at the John XXII College fields. The women from UWA took gold over Melbourne Uni and the men's team from Curtin were named Spirit of the Game winners.
UWA went through the tournament undefeated managing to hold out on with a with several close games to hold steady in unpredictable weather conditions and seal the championship on home soil 10-7 over a skillful team from Melbourne University.
The Curtin University mens team (6th overall) dominated the Spirt of the Game category with a tournament average of 13 to claim the SOTG title at the finals presentation.
