Employee Restructure

To better reflect growth of the Association and development of our employees we have recently made changes to the role previously titled Youth and Inclusion Officer.

The restructured job title will be that of Development Officer with key areas of focus in the following areas.

The primary role of the Development Officer is to ensure the continued development, promotion and advancement of youth participation, coach education and club development in WA. Key duties of the DO include:

  • Maximising the opportunities for young individuals to participate in and progress through the player pathway.
  • Provide support to WA Ultimate’s Affiliated Clubs through education and administrative support
  • Oversee School Based Delivery Programs and Resources
  • Administer and Support the State Representative Programs
  • Coach Development and Coach Accreditation / Education


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To manage all the Youth, Club and Coach Education areas of the WA Ultimate office.
  2. School Based Programs and Resources
    • Coordinate delivery of in-school coaching sessions
    • Compile and update a contact database for all schools in Western Australia (WA) and track participation numbers
    • Advertise and conduct school inclusion events and inter-school competitions
    • Identify and assist in the organisation of training and educating of school teachers in delivering Ultimate in WA Schools;
  3. Coordinate Teacher Professional Development sessions
    • Develop marketing resources to promote Professional Development days to primary and secondary school teachers
    • Coordinate the promotion and delivery of the annual High School Ultimate Championships
  4. Coach Education
    • Conduct the AFDA Level One Ultimate Coaching course
    • Design and implement coach education for delivery of youth specific sessions
    • Identify and promote coaching pathways
  5. Club Development
    • Coordinate and assess Club affiliation applications
    • Promote and conduct annual clubs planning meeting
    • Maintain and distribute club specific communication in the form on an e-newsletter
    • Strengthen clubs through administrative support such as resources and website support
  6. State Representative Programs
    • Oversee the timelines and appointments relating to State representative Programs namely U18 national championships
    • Advertise and identify procedures for staff roles such as coach and managers
    • Coordinate with appointed staff on selection procedures
    • Prepare campaign timelines
